Rick Carlson Joins SurfSecret Software
Former Aluria CEO and EarthLink executive to help lead the fight to Protect Online Privacy

Orlando, FL - August 1, 2006 - SURFSECRET, the developer of the award-winning SurfSecret Privacy Protector software, announced today Rick Carlson will join the company as partner and CEO joining Jon Oringer, the company's founder, to expand the product offering, lines of business, and future growth.

Prior to joining SurfSecret, Carlson was CEO of Aluria Software, a leading anti-spyware company. Carlson led Aluria for two years prior to the successful sale of the company to EarthLink, one of the largest security acquisitions by an ISP. Carlson was responsible for establishing several strategic relationships with companies such as AOL, EarthLink, ScriptLogic and eSoft. Under Carlson's leadership, Aluria became a strong advocate of consumer rights and privacy protection, and was actively involved in prominent advocacy groups such as the Anti-Spyware Coalition (ASC), and the Consortium Of Anti-Spyware Technologists (COAST). At EarthLink, Carlson served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, continuing the mission of working with large organizations to protect Internet users from the threats of spyware and adware.
